Renewable Resources: As studied in the course these resources could be regenerated. Water and forests are two renewable resources. Water which is the most essential component of our life is required for various purposes like irrigation, navigation, generation of electricity and for domestic needs, but there is a scarcity of usable quality of water in large parts of the world. Therefore there is a need to have the optimum and the correct utilization of this resource. Forests provide us with oxygen supply in the air with which we breathe and they affect the climate. They provide home to many living resources like birds and animals. The increased use of wood from the forest is causing an environmental imbalance. Therefore, methods are being adopted to plant more trees.
ENERGY: A NON-CONVENTIONAL RENEWABLE RESOURCE
With the increase in population, the constant requirement of energy is required. To get this energy continuous destruction of forests and environmental resources is being done. Therefore, it has become essential to think of an alternative, non-conventional source of energy. Let us discuss few of these resources:
Solar energy which we get from Sun’s energy is used by plants. Solar energy is the great source for production of vegetation which serves as food and fuel for us. Solar energy can be used directly to give us hot water during winter or for heating rooms during winter. Solar cookers are used in many homes for cooking food.
Wind energy can be used by windmill to run a generator to get electrical energy. A windmill can be used for the supply of electricity to a small town.
Another source of energy is the wave and tidal energy in which sea water is converted to electrical energy. A natural and artificial waterfall is made to turn a modern kind of pedal wheel i.e. turbine which rotates and generates electricity.
Geothermal energy i.e. hot water and super-heated steam of hot springs are used to generate electricity for heating homes or glass houses to grow vegetables.
Atomic energy is generated from atomic reactors to raise stream, which rotates turbines and generators of electric power. Biogas is produced from the cattle dung which is used for cooking and to raise stream which is used for running engines or machines in the factories or for running turbines to generate the electricity.

A balanced diet is one that gives your body the nutrition it needs to function properly. In order to get truly balanced nutrition, you should obtain the majority of your daily calories from fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. A balanced diet is important because your body’s organs and tissues need proper nutrition to work effectively. Without good nutrition, your body is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and poor performance. Children with a poor diet run the risk of growth and developmental problems. Bad eating habits can continue for the rest of their lives.
The human body requires various types of nutrients in order to keep the body healthy and fit. These nutrients should be taken appropriately in our diet. The diet that we follow should be balanced. Balanced diet is a diet, which provides all the nutrients needed by the body in correct proportions.
This means that it should contain all the types of nutrients in the required quantities. Each meal should contain sources of carbohydrates (such as cereals), proteins (such as pulses), fats (such as cooking oil), vitamins and minerals (such as variety of vegetables). Some of the common foods and their composition are given below:
In addition, the body also needs fibrous content called the roughage (for digestion) and water. A diet that contains all the above is called a balanced diet. ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS Our body need different compounds for the functioning of the different parts of our body. These compounds are called as nutrients. Different protein, vitamins and minerals should be included in our diet. Plant Proteins vs. Animal Proteins: Proteins are obtained from grains, pulses, fishes, egg, meat, etc. Plant proteins are incomplete food as they lack in one or more amino acids whereas animal protein have all the amino acids and are called as the complete food. A complete diet of various cereals, millets and pulses is required by vegetarians. Egg also contains a large amount of protein.
Vitamin: Vitamin deficiency leads to different types of diseases. They can be obtained from plant and animal foods. Different types of vitamins available from different sources help our body in performing different functions. But the overdose of vitamins can cause illness. Minerals: A large amount of calcium is required for healthy bones. Milk and green leafy vegetables are a very good source of calcium. Iron is another important mineral required for making haemoglobin in the blood. There are other 17 different types of minerals necessary for the healthy functioning of our body.

E-commerce is the business process such as buying and selling between the parties (buyer and seller) on the transfer of the right to use the goods or services over the internet networks with certain electronic mechanism. The electronic approval between the seller and the buyer to hold the sale or purchase is the essential element in defining the concept of E-commerce. There are types of E-commerce are Business-to-Business (B2B), Business-to-Consumer (B2C), Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C), Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Mobile commerce (M-commerce).
Advantages of an E-Commerce System
Disadvantages of an E-Commerce System
In E-Commerce system security hardware, software, and environment are the main critical and vulnerable points. Hardware security includes any devices used in running the E-Commerce website like network devices, web servers, database servers and client’s computer. Securing the network with a properly configured firewall device that is only allowing ports needed for accessing the E-Commerce website which is an essential part of network security. The web server and database server should be isolated from other networks using a network DMZ (demilitarized zone) to reduce possible intrusion from compromised computers on other networks behind the firewall. A DMZ is a separate network added between a protected network and an external network, in order to provide an additional layer of security. Software and routinely released patches should be regularly updated to fix holes in security. Website pages, where confidential information is being entered, should be secured with strong cryptography algorithm .The secure an E-Commerce website is a dynamic process where new threats crop-up every day. To build a secure E-commerce application, the following five security features must be included.

For the understanding and explanation of personality, various theoretical models have been proposed. The different models have explained personality with respect to their theoretical propositions e.g. the Psychoanalytic theory explains personality taking intra-psychic and conscious-unconscious mind into account whereas the Behaviorist model totally rejects this approach and emphasises the role of learning and environment in the shaping and development of personality. The Humanistic Model takes a different approach. It is true that every model seems to be correct from its own perspective but when we consider the other models, many of their features become redundant, irrelevant and may be invalid. Therefore, one, who is interested in understanding the phenomenon of personality by going through various theoretical accounts, may not be able to have a clear view of the personality as construct. Therefore, there is a need of an eclectic model which incorporates the features of various models into it and aids in shaping of personality.
Some other issues in personality that need to be attended to at length are:
1) Free will vs determinism. Means that whether our behaviour is directed by freedom intrinsic to our nature or by the ultimately determined forces.
2) Uniqueness vs Universality. Implies that whether each person is unique in his own existence or is driven by some universal behaviour patterns.
3) Physiological vs purposive motivation. Some researchers assume that we are pushed by basic physiological needs like food, water etc. while others are of the view that we are pulled by our purpose, goals, values, principles etc.
4) Conscious vs Unconscious motivation. Some researchers believe that our behaviour and experience are determined by conscious forces whereas others say that we are not aware of the forces driving our behaviour, i.e. the unconscious element.
5) Stage vs Non-stage theories of development. It is an extension of the nature nurture issue that whether or not we all pass through predetermined stages of development like fetal, childhood, puberty, adulthood, senescencecontrolled basically by genetics.
6) Cultural determinism vs Cultural transcendence. To what extent our personality is molded by our cultures is the issue here. If not determined by culture, our transcendence is some other kind of determinism.
7) Early Vs Late Personality Formation. This issue deals with if our personality characteristics are established in early childhood or it is quite flexible in adulthood. This question relates to the issues of genetics, external determination etc. Here, the major limitation resolution is the confusion in defining personality characteristics.
8) Optimism Vs Pessimism. Whether humans are basically good or bad is the central issue here. The attitude determines what we see when we look at humanity.
To sum up, it can be said that the issues in personality consider classic and more recent issues that are fundamental to the field of personality psychology. However, various theorists have contributed to our understanding of personality but their varying view points have led to various controversies that are still posing a challenge to the area of personality. These issues need a timely resolution so that the research in personality could be more refined and stable and the core areas could be dealt with more precision and flawlessly.

When we ask what equality of opportunity is we could be asking two questions. First, we could be asking about the concept of equality of opportunity. If so, we are asking for the idea in its most general form. We are asking what kind of features a statement must have to count as a statement of equality of opportunity rather than a statement of something else. Second, we could be asking for the correct conception of equality of opportunity. The term ‘conception’ refers to a specific interpretation of a notion or idea. It is a particular way of understanding the kind of equality and the kinds of opportunities that are most valuable or more important. While there is only one concept of equality of opportunity, there are many different conceptions.
The concept of Equality of Opportunity has been examined by philosopher Peter Westen. Westen shows that an opportunity is a three-way relationship between a person, some obstacles, and a desired goal. However, a person only has an opportunity if she has a chance of achieving that goal. One cannot have an opportunity if one faces insurmountable obstacles that make it impossible to secure the goal. For instance, one cannot have an opportunity to become the president of the United States if one is not a natural born citizen. Many people, therefore, have no opportunity to become president of the United States. A person can have an opportunity even in the face of many, quite serious, obstacles. So, a natural born US citizen has the opportunity to become president, but she faces serious obstacles, such as accruing the relevant number and distribution of votes, as well as winning primaries. So, to have an opportunity means to face no insurmountable obstacles with respect to some important or desired goal, but what about having an equal opportunity?
In order for opportunities to be equal within a group, each member of that group must face the same relevant obstacles, none insurmountable, with respect to achieving the same desirable goal. In our example, all natural born citizens of the US have an equal opportunity when irrelevant goals, such as race, gender and religious affiliation are removed and when relevant obstacles, such as being democratically elected, remain.
Some critics have doubted the importance of mentioning equality when thinking about opportunities within a group. They argue that the only equality here is universalism, meaning that the opportunity is had by all. We can see why one might be drawn to the idea that equality plays little role in this ideal since we could say that everyone should have an opportunity to become president and this seems to do the job as well as saying that everyone should have an equal opportunity to become president. Equality appears to be doing no work, and this may lead us to question whether this expresses the value of equality.
At this point we do well to contrast equality of opportunity with equality of outcome. Equality of opportunity requires only that people be free from certain obstacles to pursue their own happiness and success. As such, Equality of Opportunity is not opposed to different outcomes of the conscientious, but fair pursuit of jobs, health, wealth, education and other goods that people value, so long as everyone faces the same obstacles. Sometimes this idea is known as the level-playing field because its main concern is that no one is unfairly advantaged before they even start out. It is in stark opposition to games that are rigged in favour of some over others. By contrast, Equality of Outcome insists that everyone do equally well with respect to some of the goods that individuals value, regardless of their effort, talents, and whether they wish to pursue it. This sort of equality can seem undesirable, but it can also be understood as one that is impossible to achieve because people are unequal in so many of the respects that affect outcomes, such as natural talent, health, their attitudes to hard work and in their interests and preferences. This can lead us to favour equal opportunities and to allow the inequality of outcomes. However, we should note that equal outcomes may still be very important indicators of inequality of opportunity, and that equal outcomes may be appropriate for children and others who lack responsible agency.
